TEL AVIV, Israel and NEW YORK, Oct. 29, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Bites, the AI-native frontline performance enablement platform, today announced a $40 million Series A funding round, bringing its total funding to $55 million. PeakSpan Capital led the round, with participation from existing investors Vertex Ventures, Horizon Capital, Rittenhouse Ventures, Lyra Ventures, and others. The capital will fund Bites’ U.S. expansion and further platform development, turning frontline training into measurable sales, service and operational performance. As part of the investment, Phil Dur and Charlie Reinkemeyer of PeakSpan will join the Bites board of directors.
“Running restaurants taught me that business performance comes down to what people do on the floor, every day, and whether they have the knowledge and support to do it well. We built Bites to put that support in every frontline employee’s hands,” said Eran Heffetz, Co-founder and CEO of Bites. “With PeakSpan’s partnership, we’ll be able to help businesses spot where teams need support, act on it immediately, and see whether it makes a difference. That means turning business data into actionable, personalized training & enablement leading to better performance on the frontline.”
Reaching the 2.8 Billion Workers Traditional Training Misses
Deskless employees, an estimated 2.8 billion people and roughly 80% of the global workforce, rarely work at a computer, so training built around courses and learning management system (LMS) logins often doesn’t reach them. For sales and operations leaders, that gap has a commercial cost: a promotion, launch or new procedure only pays off if frontline teams act on it. Bites reaches employees on any device, through the channels they already use, with no app to install or login required, while tracking engagement and giving managers visibility into whether a rollout reached their teams.
Bites delivers training through WhatsApp, SMS, Microsoft Teams, Slack, or a simple link. Each lesson or “Bite” runs up to 90 seconds and pairs a short video with a question, a summary and a discussion. That’s short enough to fit into a shift and structured enough to show whether the material landed. When employees need an answer later, Ask-AI responds in natural language using only approved company content.
Bites’ AI Studio turns a PDF, standard operating procedure (SOP) or idea into a branded training video in minutes. For example, an operations manager rolling out a new food-safety procedure can upload the SOP and send a 90-second video to a line cook in Lisbon and a server in Las Vegas through WhatsApp, each in their own language and featuring their company’s kitchen and uniforms. The manager can then see who completed it and which questions the night shift in Lisbon struggled with. A single video supports more than 150 languages with one-tap switching. If something needs to change, Bites’ AI editing agent lets teams revise the video by describing the change, with no editing skills required.
Bites customers span hospitality, quick-service restaurants, retail, consumer goods and manufacturing, and typically reach more than 90% engagement within three weeks. Customers also expand their use over time, and Bites reports 161% net revenue retention.
Sales, commercial and operations leaders at enterprises including Unilever, Coca-Cola, Shake Shack, Wynn Resorts, The Venetian and Compass Group use Bites to roll out product launches, promotions, service standards and new procedures across their frontline teams.
PeakSpan’s Conviction in the Frontline
“Frontline employees make up approximately 80% of the global workforce, yet companies have historically had to stitch together tools designed for office workers because few solutions have been built with deskless workers specifically in mind. PeakSpan’s thesis rests on Bites being purpose-built for this segment of the workforce, around how they actually work, to help them perform at their best. That thesis was validated throughout our diligence, as the customers we spoke with consistently described how closely the platform fits their workforce’s needs and how that fit translates into meaningful productivity gains. Because Bites reaches deskless employees through the channels they already use, and because of the impact it is delivering for customers, it is being adopted quickly by commercial, operations and L&D leaders who own frontline results and control budgets that extend well beyond traditional corporate learning. Looking ahead, Bites is building a data foundation that connects training to business outcomes, so it can deliver the right enablement at the right moment to drive better results. We are excited about where Bites is today and where it is headed, and we are privileged to partner with the team,” said Phil Dur, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, PeakSpan Capital.
“Few companies get customers to come back and ask for more. Bites does. As Bites’ first lead investor, we’ve believed in the team’s vision from the beginning, and we’re excited to support this next chapter as the company expands in the U.S.,” said Aviad Ariel, General Partner, Vertex Ventures.
“The best founders know how to master uncertainty and turn it into opportunity, and the Bites team has demonstrated that ability time and again. What excites me about Bites is how it brings AI into everyday frontline work: on the shop floor, in a restaurant, and at the front desk. I believe that’s where technology can make a real difference, and I’m proud to have been in their corner from the beginning,” said Yaniv Jacobi, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Horizon Capital.
Turning Business Data into Frontline Performance
Frontline training is often judged by completion, while business outcomes sit in separate systems: sales in the point-of-sale (POS) system, guest scores in customer relationship management (CRM) software and turnover in the HR system. Without connecting those signals to learning, companies struggle to see where training is needed and whether it helps improve performance.
Bites already connects data from POS, CRM, enterprise resource planning (ERP) and human capital management (HCM) systems with the learning and engagement data it captures from millions of frontline interactions. Parts of this capability are live today. The funding will support its further development into a continuous loop that identifies performance gaps, creates targeted training, delivers it to the right employees and measures changes in business outcomes:
- Detect: Spot where performance is slipping, by site, shift, role or individual.
- Create: Automatically generate a targeted, branded training video that addresses that specific gap.
- Deliver: Push it straight to the employees who need it, in their language, on the channel they already use.
- Prove: Measure whether the business metric moved.
For example, when stores fall behind on upselling a new promotion, the planned workflow would flag the dip in sales data, generate a 60-second coaching video featuring the brand’s own stores and uniforms, and deliver it to the relevant teams in their language. Managers would then track whether upsell rates improved after the training.
“Every company already knows training matters. What they’ve never had is proof, or speed,” said Heffetz. “We have shown that frontline employees complete training built for how they work. Bites’ next generation is about what happens next: finding the gap, closing it automatically and showing the business what it was worth. That’s when L&D stops being a cost center and becomes a lever for performance.”
The funding will also support Bites’ commercial growth, including:
- U.S. expansion: Scaling enterprise sales and customer success from New York, where Heffetz is relocating to build the commercial organization.
- Partner channels: Building partner and reseller channels to bring Bites to more enterprises.
- New markets: Expanding into banking, insurance and the extended workforce, alongside continued growth in hospitality, quick-service restaurants, retail, consumer goods and manufacturing.
