S&K Aerospace, LLC (SKA) has been awarded the U.S. Air Force Parts and Repair Ordering System 7 (PROS 7) contract, a $4.3 billion single-award Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract supporting Foreign Military Sales customers worldwide.
PROS provides supply, repair and logistics support for non-standard and difficult-to-support items that traditional U.S. Government sources of supply cannot provide in a timely or efficient manner. Under PROS 7, S&K Aerospace will serve as the U.S. Government source for eligible supply, maintenance and task-order requirements supporting U.S. Air Force, Army and Navy FMS customers.
The contract provides for a maximum 10-year ordering period consisting of a one-year base period and nine one-year options, followed by a three-year closeout period. The program’s primary objectives include timely requisition processing, best-value pricing, accurate customer support, quality materiel and effective program management.
“This is a huge win for S&K, but it really belongs to the people who got us here,” said Tony Amadeo, President of S&K Aerospace. “We had an outstanding team across B&P, Pricing, Contracts, HR, IT/IRM, Quality and our technical and operational organizations that put an enormous amount of work into PROS 7. But we also would not be here without the PROS IV and PROS V teams who have been executing this mission for more than 15 years. Their performance built the customer trust, supplier relationships and reputation that we carried into this competition. We didn’t just show up and win PROS 7 — this team earned it over a lot of years.”
S&K Aerospace has supported the PROS mission through PROS IV and PROS V, developing extensive experience sourcing and repairing aging, obsolete and difficult-to-support components for international customers. PROS 7 provides the company an opportunity to build on that experience while continuing to improve its processes, technology and supplier engagement.
“PROS has been an important part of the Aerospace Business Unit for many years, and PROS 7 gives us the opportunity to continue that mission well into the future,” said Dave Rariden, General Manager of S&K’s Aerospace Business Unit. “This award reflects years of consistent execution by our employees and the strong relationships they have built with our customer and supplier community.”
For the employees who have supported the program every day, the award also represents the continuation of a mission many have helped build throughout their careers.
“I’m extremely proud of the PROS team,” said Melanie Brooks, Director of PROS. “Our people have worked through thousands of difficult supply and repair requirements over the years, and their performance is a big reason S&K is in this position today. This award belongs to the entire team, and I’m excited about what we’re going to build together under PROS 7.”
The award also carries significance beyond the program itself. S&K Aerospace is a subsidiary of S&K Technologies, Inc., an enterprise owned by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes (CSKT).
“An award of this size is important to S&K not only because of the mission we have been entrusted to perform, but because of what our success ultimately means to our Tribal shareholder,” said Chad Cottet, Chief Executive Officer of S&K Technologies, Inc. “The success of S&K Aerospace helps create long-term economic value for the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes and supports programs and services that directly benefit our community. I congratulate the entire team on an extraordinary accomplishment.”
